Review: You - Season 2, Episode 2 "Just the Tip"

Season 2 Episode 2 is called..."Just the Tip." So. Yeah.

One thing that immediately stands out at the start of this episode - Will is extremely judgy for a panty-stealing psychopathic murdering freak. But I guess in order to be the kind of person Will is you have to lack a certain amount of self awareness, so I shouldn't really be surprised.

So now we know how Will found Real Will. Craigslist. They meet at what appears to be the most delicious taco restaurant ever. Seriously, I want to eat here one day. Is this place real? AND OH MY GOSH, REAL WILL IS PLAYED BY THE RIDDLER. I did not realize that when we first met him in the glass cage last episode. Is this actor just destined to play tragic characters? Apparently.

The Riddler is rambling on and on and then makes a comment about hating cages. Oh. Boy. Are you in for a disappointing destiny, Real Will. They walk over to the car, and Fake Will...knocks out Real Will in broad daylight? This guy is getting ballsier by the day, and it will absolutely be his downfall.

Fake Will talks to Real Will/The Riddler about Jasper and learns that he owes him $3,000. Apparently he never paid back the consultation fee he charged him before bailing. Will finds a way to make the money quickly by revisiting some old tricks. Is this the same way he made thousands of dollars to rebuild his glass cage thing?

Later he "runs into" Love, and...she kisses him. Oh no, girl. Run. Run away!

The owner of Anavrin's douchey kid has the brilliant idea to play movies on a loop in the bookstore, and I can't help but wonder if this guy is going to end up somehow saving the day. I feel like we're supposed to hate him just so we can be set up to love him and call him a hero later. I am calling it now, one of these people will be the hero at the end: 1) Owner's Douchey Kid, 2) Delilah the Landlord, or 3) Candace. Kind of hope it's one of the women.

Jasper shows up at Will's work looking for the money, Will hands it to him only to learn that it's actually $50,000 he's owed, not $3,000. There goes the Riddler, up to his old tricks. (Give me a Gotham/You mashup. Please.)

Will doesn't have it so Jasper CUTS OFF HIS FINGER OH MY GOSH. It took me about half the episode to believe that actually happened. I kept waiting for it to be some kind of hallucination or something on Will's part, but then he actually starts hallucinating because of all the blood loss and we realize, he did in fact lose the tip of his finger. Just the tip though, as the title reminds us.

Will has to cancel lunch plans with Love so that he can find this guy Rufus to get $50k to pay for his finger tip, but first he puts on his creeper hat and goes to spy on Love's friends. So Lucy will definitely end up dead, no question about it. Her partner's name is Sunrise, which is ridiculous, and their kid's name is...Candle? Did I hear that right? I'm not even going to check if I did because I would not be surprised if someone named Sunrise named her kid Candle.

They quickly go from oOoOo NeW bOyFrIeNd light lunch talk to some really heavy shit, and it looks like these friends are legit. They're good people, and hopefully they have their Good at Reading Other People caps on when they inevitably meet Will and we get a Love's Friends vs. Joe/Will showdown a la season one.

Will goes to a party looking for Rufus, who apparently owes Real Will $50k. He runs into a lot of familiar characters along the way, including Henderson (aka Hendy), who asks him if he lost his finger from stealing someone's curly fries. Honestly, not a bad reason to chop someone's finger off. Curly fries are the jam. (Also love how dedicated to fries everyone in this show is.)

He finally finds Rufus, who hands him...pills. Not $50k. Turns out Real Will is all kinds of bipolar and was still lucid enough to manipulate Fake Will in to bringing him the goods.

Later we learn that Love knew that Will was lying to her about why he canceled their lunch plans because she and Forty are twins. I also just realized this guy's name was Forty. I didn't know what they were saying, but after looking it up on IMDB, I can't help but wonder what type of people name their kids Love and Forty. Is it because they love 40s?

We played Edward Fortyhands in college one time and didn't leave anyone with normal hands in the apartment because we're idiots. As a result, we had to go knock on the neighbor's door to help us get the 40s off our hands when we were done playing. You know, just college things.

Jasper and Fake Will meet up later, and Jasper is stupid enough to follow him into a dark, creepy storage unit. They fight, Fake Will kills him, and then we get the grossest scene to ever grace the TV screen: Fake Will dismantling Jasper's body and grinding him up into Ground Jasper. This is, of course, interwoven with Love cooking dinner and chopping up some disgusting looking meat to further destroy our appetites.

I might have missed something, but I'm pretty sure Will's doing this...at his workplace? I think he killed a guy and then took him to his place of work to dismantle and grind him up. Wherever he is, this is literally the most nauseating thing I've ever watched happen, and that is saying something because I watched GoT.

After he's done grinding up Jasper, he goes to Love's, and they talk about their relationship. They decide to be friends until they can both move on from their past relationships and start fresh.

Later, Will has a conversation with Delilah that I'm pretty sure is super important, but I am having the hardest time understanding her because she is a mumbler. Whatever they're saying, Will is clearly becoming a little obsessed with her too and may become protective to a very detrimental point for poor Delilah.

Then he goes back to his place and takes a picture off the wall to reveal a hole where he's been keeping -- yep, you guessed it -- a Love box, complete with underwear he has just stolen from poor Love's apartment.

So much for walking before you run, you creepy motherfucker!
