Copywriting

I am fortunate to have a mom who is incredibly talented and accomplished in the writing department, and I like to think a little bit of that talent trickled down to me! I know and love the power of words — and the intricacies of writing for a brand versus yourself. Tone matters, and it’s a vital part of putting forth your most authentic content. Authenticity creates trust, and without trust, you have an audience, not customers — and certainly not fans.

I worked as a copywriter for Bealls Department Stores at the start of my career and quickly became the unofficial copywriter when I hopped departments over to the social media side of things. Since then, copywriting has continued to be a skill I’m so thrilled to use in my everyday work.

Here are some early samples from my time managing Bealls’ bag stuffers (Aptly named! They’re literally papers that were stuffed into bags of shoppers.) I loved working on these because I got to do it all: graphic design and copywriting.

More recently, I crafted copy for KAY’s partnership with Darius Garland. You can check it out on the landing page, in the below store signage and in this dedicated email.

You can also find writing samples from my work with @MommaMandyBlog and @LeanneBarlow below:
